CPO® Voice

Are you considering becoming a Certified Professional Organizer®?

We'd like to know what you're thinking, how you are going about your preparation, and how you think it will affect our organizing practice.

Did you sit for the examination this October or November? If so, we'd like to hear about the experience and what it took for you to "take the leap" and join the ranks of the CPO®.

If you are interested in being interviewed by our Press Representative for a future e-letter or press release, we'd like to hear from you at info@certifiedprofessionalorganizers.org.

BCPO® TIPS

As you prepare to meet the eligibility requirements, be sure to read them carefully. BCPO encourages you to read everything you can get your hands on, attend every class available and affordable, and reach out to your peers for support in study groups. But remember, just because someone advertises a course as "BCPO CEU eligible" does not make it so. It is up to you to determine if the coursework is something that will enhance your practice as an ORGANIZER, not just as a business person. Read the fine print of both the course offering and the BCPO eligibility requirements. If the course is something that will help you do your job better, whether it is eligible for CEUs or not, take it. There's no such thing as learning too much.

BCPO SUGGESTED RESOURCES UPDATED

Thinking about sitting for the CPO® examination in 2009? You will be pleased to know that the suggested reference sources for examination preparation have been updated.

Under the expert guidance of Director of Examination Development, Mary Dykstra, CPO® and Resource Director, Diane Smith, CPO®, the "official" list has been revised. If you have been studying from the previous list, rest assured that there is nothing wrong with the those books and they all contain valuable content. Be sure to visit www.certifiedprofessionalorganizers.org as the program continues to evolve.
