Florida Organizer Wins Certified Professional Organizer® Exam Fee Waiver at
Organizing Conference

Dunedin, FL. The Board of Certification for Professional Organizers (BCPO®) is pleased to announce that Fort Lauderdale, Florida professional organizer Pat Ribera is the winner of a free application fee for the computer-based Certified Professional Organizer® examination. A drawing for the free application fee was held at the BCPO® booth at the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) conference in Orlando, Florida this month.

“It was nice, and a complete coincidence, to have a Florida organizer win. Pat is a founding member and an officer of her local NAPO Chapter, NAPO-South Florida, and came to the booth to discuss ways to help her chapter members and herself prepare for the exam,” says Audrey Lavine, CPO® and President of the BCPO®, the self-governing, independent certifying body formed to recognize and raise industry standards, practices and ethics through independent certification.

Pat has been a Professional Organizer for seven years, coming to the industry after a long career in nursing and training. “I was in a highly credentialed field where initials meant a lot. I see a very tight parallel with Professional Organizers. The CPO® will be the industry standard,” she says. Owner of A Positive Move, she specializes in relocation and residential organizing. Pat has also started a CPO® study group to encourage more Professional Organizers to consider taking the exam.

Anyone who meets the specific minimum criteria, and proves through examination and client interaction that they possess the body of knowledge and experience required for certification, can earn the CPO® designation. For example, management and life coaches, those who work with individuals with ADD/ADHD, senior move managers, records managers and other related specialists may qualify.

For more information on the BCPO®, the CPO® designation, including requirements to sit for the examination and to find a CPO®in your area, contact 1-800-556-0484 or visit www.certifiedprofessionalorganizers.org.
